Meet Lars and Olivia

Greetings! You have stumbled upon our little side project- Doppio. I'm Lars and my wife's name is Olivia.

While in Italy, I realized I wanted to be more involved in the craft coffee industry and in particular the Kansas City coffee scene. I've worked as a professional barista for years, but since working full time as a designer, I haven't been able to work in coffee. Seeing as how I already had all the equipment to serve great espresso, a literal coffee cart amount that covers our counter, our natural first step was to take that equipment into other peoples homes. That is how we came up with the idea of Doppio. Doppio is a Kansas City coffee catering business. Learn more about How it Works.

Here is a brief overview of our strategy:

Phase 1: Cater a few private events and fully establish our brand. Interested in having us come out? Inquire :)
Phase 2: Invest in additional commercial equipment, hire a few baristas, and further refine the Italian experience we provide.
Long Term: It would be amazing to cater more corporate events, professional networking events, or setup in temporarily in local businesses.

Get to know Lars

I worked professionally at PT's coffee, McClains Coffee, and have volunteered at Cause Coffee. I love the Kansas City coffee community. I also believe that no morning is complete without a good cup of coffee. I love Ethiopian coffee and my favorite roaster is Onyx Coffee Lab. As lame as it is to say, I like brewing my own coffee the most, but I truly love visiting new coffee shops, meeting others for coffee, and I completed my college degree in the coffee shops in Lawrence. I love making coffee for others!

Get to know Olivia

Olivia is the brains behind the whole operation. Not only that but she knows what is and isn't cool. Without her, I'd be a grumpy, over caffeinated home barista. Hilariously, she doesn't even like coffee. Instead, she really enjoys matcha. Olivia is welcoming and not pretentious, which exactly what we strive to bring to the craft coffee industry. She loves a good social event and bringing people together. Together, we make a great team in forming Doppio.

Get to know Zissou

Zissou is the heart behind Doppio. He is our little fur baby. He is nearly one year old and is a Miniature Poodle. He would be happy to attend any event that is dog friendly. He is also our mascot.
